2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair an Evaporator on 2006 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: First take off the HVAC casing and keep it on a workbench; then open up the housing to access the A/C evaporator. Separate the probe of the evaporator temperature sensor from the fins of the A/C evaporator and push the wire lead through a gap in the sponsor housing. Should the foam around the evaporator be broken or misshapen, it should be changed. Gently remove both the A/C evaporator and its foam insulator from inside the upper half of the HVAC housing (4) and unscrew the foam seal from the two A/C evaporator tubes as required. If you are installing, add 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of oil that is right for your car's compressor to the system and secure the foam in the HVAC housing to serve as insulation. Install the evaporator unit and its insulator into the upper half of the HVAC housing and put the evaporator temperature sensor through the A/C evaporator's fins, running the wire lead into the hole at the top of the housing. In the end, connect and attach the HVAC housing to the system.
