2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Blower Motor Resistor on 2006 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: First, turn off the air bag system on cars that have air bags by taking off and isolating the battery's negative cable, then let it stand for two minutes so the air bag capacitor discharges. If you were running the blower motor, make sure to wait five minutes after it's off as the resistor may be too hot to touch. You should begin by loose the negative battery cable, then look under the instrument panel and take out the wire harness connector from the blower motor resistor. Unscrew the two screws holding the blower motor resistor in the HVAC, then pull out the resistor. Place the new blower motor resistor in the opening for the HVAC housing not far from the blower motor, attach it with the two screws and tighten them to 2.2 N.m (20 in. lbs.), plug in the wire connector from the blower motor resistor and fasten the negative battery cable again.
