How to Service a Steering Wheel and Reinstall the Driver's Side Airbag on 2006 Dodge Ram 3500?

Before you touch any part of the steering wheel, first disable and take off the driver's side air bag. Remove just a small amount of the steering wheel bolt, keep the bolt in the column, then push on the bolt with a puller CJ981 or a similar tool. First, unbolt and take away the steering wheel bolt and afterward remove the steering wheel itself. For making sure your steering wheel is set up properly, get a new bolt to use since the previous one can't be reused. Put the steering wheel onto the column and ensure you have adjusted the mounting bolt to the right torque for the Clock Spring. Place and tighten the new steering wheel bolt to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.) and after that, mount the driver's side air bag.
