2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500 A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Accumulator on 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: Service or repair of the front A/C accumulator should begin with the refrigerant being recovered from the system. After that, take out the bolts holding the liquid lines to the top of the A/C accumulator and disconnect both connectors, removing and discarding the O-ring seals. Wrap tape or use a plug to protect the liquid line fittings and A/C accumulator ports, then slip the clamp off the A/C accumulator and take it out of the car. Should you have to replace the A/C accumulator, add in the 30 milliliter (1 fluid ounce) refrigeration oil for the compressor specified by the manufacturer. Slide the mounting bracket onto the front left strut tower and then secure the A/C accumulator with the clamp. Remove the tape or plugs from the liquid line fittings and A/C accumulator ports, rub clean refrigerant oil on the new rubber O-rings and put them back on the liquid line fittings. Link the liquid line fittings from the front to the rear onto the A/C accumulator, install the bolts that secure them and tighten the bolts to 7 N.m (62 in. lbs.). Lastly, drain the refrigerant from the machine and bring in new coolant for charging.
