2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500 A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an A/C Condenser on 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: Before you take out the condenser, unhook and separate the negative battery cable and then recycle the refrigerant from the system. After that, take off the front fascia, grille and headlamps from their positions and move on to the radiator crossmember. Remove any plastic rings from the open A/C condenser ports, plus from the A/C air and liquid lines and then seal the lines with tape or a plug. Unplug the auxiliary fan wire harness connector, take out the fan and upper bracket assembly, then detach the two lower bracket retainers and bracket. Eliminate the four condenser retaining screws and carefully get rid of the condenser from your car. If replacing the condenser, before emerson the refrigerant, put 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of the recommended refrigerant oil into the system. Set the A/C condenser inside the engine compartment and attach it using the four screws, tighten the screws to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.). Insert the lower fan bracket hardware and retaining nuts, tighten them to 5 N.m (45 in. lbs.) and fit the complete auxiliary fan and upper bracket assembly, tightening the screws to the same pressure. Secure the wire harness connector to the auxiliary fan, remove coverings from the condenser ports and opened fittings on the refrigerant line, treat a new rubber O-ring with clean oil and fit it onto the line fittings. Secure the discharge and liquid lines from the A/C to the condenser using nuts that you tighten to 33 N.m (24 ft. lbs.). Reinstall the radiator crossmember, headlamps, grille and front fascia and once again connect the negative battery cable. After you've completed the repair, move the car and evacuate the refrigerant system.
