What Needs Inspection and Replacement After an Air Bag Deployment on 2006 Dodge Stratus?

When a collision causes the Driver air bag to be deployed, the Driver air bag, Clock Spring Assembly, Steering Wheel and Complete Steering Column Assembly must be replaced and all other air bag and vehicle parts should be carefully inspected and replaced if damage is found. After installing a Passenger air bag, the Passenger air bag, Instrument Panel and Pad Assembly and other similar components, need to be replaced and checked with the same procedures. When a Curtain air bag is deployed, the Curtain air bag Assembly, Headliner A, B and C-Pillar Trim on the deployed side and Satellite Acceleration Sensor (Sas) all need replacing, along with inspecting other components. Once the front air bags inflate after an impact, both front seat belt retractors (And their associated tensioners) and front seat belt buckles (And their associated tensioners) need to be changed and all other seat belts should be checked for damage and changed if they are. Any damage on the tensioner connector should be observed and any damaged wires should be switched out. When cleaning up, direct the air bag back to its location, then tape the torn cover across it if the air bag was deployed. Working from the outside going in, vacuum the car's interior to pick up any remaining powder, then vacuum the heater and A/C outlets too. When the heater or air conditioner was turned to Recirc during the deployment of air bags, use the blower on its lowest speed to get any powder removed from the heater and air conditioner outlets, repeating the vacuuming until the vehicle's interior is fully decontaminated.
