2006 Jeep Commander Automatic Transmission Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Automatic Transmission Filter on 2006 Jeep Commander?
A: When servicing or replacing the transmission fluid and filter, first start the car and drive it until both components have heated. Then, get your truck raised and stable. Remove all nine fasteners that hold the oil pan to the transmission and detach the oil pan and gasket together. Then, take out both the transmission oil filter and O-ring from the electrohydraulic control unit. Wash the interior of the oil pan and check the gasket; change it if it seems damaged. Replace the oil filter and O-ring in the electrohydraulic control unit and then join the oil pan and gasket to the transmission. Place the oil pan's bolts and retainers and torque the bolts to 8 Nm (70 inch lbs.). After your car is lowered, check that you have 5.0 L (10.6 pts.) of transmission fluid inside and then check the oil gauge.
