The Jeep Commander Automatic Transmission Filter is one of the essential parts that amplify the standard and stability of Jeep's mid-size SUV classes. Intended to keep the health of the transmission system in its optimum level, this Automatic Transmission Filter filters out debris in the transmission fluid so that proper flowage of fluid through the passage and the smooth movement of moving parts will be achieved. Especially for Jeep Commander models, it is very important, as it contributes to the non-occurrence of large-scale damage, as well as to an increase in efficiency and safety. Jeep Commander with different models as the XK and 2022 Meridian employ different sorts of Automatic Transmission Filters, including but not limited to, the filters behind the removable fluid pans for instance, the in-line filters for minute particles lodging, and the external spin-on filters for easy accessibility. These characteristics do not only help in accomplishing normal maintenance but also help in better mileage and longer working life. The Jeep Commander Automatic Transmission Filter can be viewed and appreciated for its efficient devices and economic opportunities on the automotive market, and its key importance in the Jeep Commander model. In this sense, this Automatic Transmission Filter is vital due to the fact that transmission function directly affects the service life and basic efficiency of the Jeep Commander, thereby supporting the durability and stability in challenging situations, which has always been the brand's hallmark. When driving the Jeep Commander on the city roads or rough terrains, the Automatic Transmission Filter is very essential in ensuring the efficiency of the vehicle and safety of the passengers.

Jeep Commander Automatic Transmission Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Change the Automatic Transmission Filter and Fluid on Jeep Commander?
    A:
Place the car up on safety stands and then place a shallow, large diameter pan below where the transmission pan will drain. Remove the bolts that hold the front and sides to the transmission. Loosen the bolts at the back. Wait for the fluid to flow into the pan as you very slowly remove the front of the pan. After draining, hold the pan evenly and get rid of the last bolts before pulling the pan away from the transmission and pouring the fluid into the drain pan. With a screwdriver, unbolt the Oil Filter from the valve body (1), pull it off and empty the fluid into the pan. Watch for a complete and intact oil filter seal inside the oil pump; otherwise, toss it or if it's in good shape, clean it. When swapping the cooler return filter (2), use Oil Filter Wrench 8321 to do so. Dump all the old transmission fluid safely and also get rid of any used filters. If there are not any slipping or shift delays, a small amount of clutch material on the magnet or bottom of the pan is acceptable. After cleaning the pan and magnet with a suitable cleaner, take the original sealing material out of the transmission case and pan by scraping with the gasket scraper. While fitting, be sure the primary oil filter seal is embedded in the oil pump and not installed around the neck of the filter. Should the seal be worn, replace it with an appropriate new seal in the oil pump inlet bore. Place the replacement filter on the intake valve and into the oil pump and attach the oil pump's primary filter (1) with the screw, locking it 4.5Nm (40in.lbs.) tight. Should a new return filter (2) need to be installed, tighten it to 9.5 Nm (7 ft.lbs.) after installation. Lay on a Mopar(R) RTV sealant bead on the transmission case sealing area, fit the pan over it, bolt the pan in place and tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Lastly, lower your car and fill the transmission with Mopar(R) ATF +4.
  • Q: How to Maintain and Repair an Automatic Transmission Filter on Jeep Commander?
    A:
Before doing anything on the fluid filter in the automatic transmission, turn on the vehicle and allow the transmission oil to warm up to its normal operating temperature. After that, raise the vehicle to the needed position and offer support. First, remove the Oil Pan and gasket by taking out the transmission's five bolts and four retainers. After that, pull out the transmission oil filter and O-ring from the electrohydraulic control unit. Scrub the interior of the oil pan and check the oil pan gasket; if it is damaged, replace it. Put a new oil filter and O-ring into the electrohydraulic control unit and after that, reattach the oil pan with the gasket to the transmission. Join the oil pan to the engine with its bolts and retainers and ensure the bolts receive 8 Nm of torque (70 inch lbs.). With the vehicle on the ground, pour 5.0 L (10.6 pts.) of transmission fluid into the transmission and check the level.
