  A: Before service or repair the hood latch, first use a grease pencil to mark the latch's position on the radiator crossmember located above it. Remove the two screws holding the hood latch to the upper radiator crossbar and release the cable from the hood latch. During installation, join the hood latch cable with the hood latch, put the hood latch on the upper radiator crossmember and put the two nuts into place but do not tighten them yet. Match up the hood latch with the upper radiator crossmember, using the dots from before and tighten the bolts until you reach 27 N.m (20 ft.lbs). If needed, change the position of the hood.
