2006 Jeep Commander Seat Heater Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain Your Seat Heater on 2006 Jeep Commander?
A: To service the seat heater, start by disconnecting and isolating the battery negative cable, next step remove the appropriate seat cushion. Remove the connectors from both parts of the heated seat, then trim both wires closely next to the original section. Take off the protective covering on the replacement heating element and place it over the factory installed element in the oven. In the assembly, make sure not to fold or kink the structure, to avoid any early breakdown. Once done, attach the new heating element's cables, put the battery's negative cable back on and check that the heated seat is working properly. Then, set the proper seat cushion or back trim cover and verify that the seat wire harness is in order and that all excess wire from the cushion to the back can be tucked safely in the space between the rear of the foam and the back carpet flap of the trim cover.
