2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Air Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Repair an Air Filter on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: To work on the air filter, remove the clamp and separate the air duct at the air cleaner cover. Take out all four spring clips from the housing cover which holds the cover in place and once these are gone, remove the cover from the locating tabs and lift it off. Remove the air cleaner from the housing, clean the inside and then put it back. Release the clamp, disconnect the air duct from the air cleaner cover and lift the entire housing block onto the locating pins. When installing, fit the air filter inside the housing, slide the housing cover into the posted tabs and lift the four spring clips. Place the air duct back on the air cleaner cover and apply 3 Nm (30 inch lbs.) torque to the hose clamp. Should any other hose clamps be removed from the air intake system, be sure to tighten them with 3 Nm (30 inch lbs.) torque. When bolts have been removed from the air resonator housing or air intake tubing, tighten them with 4 Nm (40 inch lbs.) torque.
