How to Service a Seat Heater Sensor on 2006 Jeep Liberty?

In order to service the heated seat sensor, disconnect the negative battery cable and take off the seat cushion. Snip the wires of the damaged heating element and(or) attach the replacement element over the old one. Install the battery again, inspect the system and have the seat cushion back in place again, with a proper wire run to it.
