How to Replace a Hood Hinge on 2006 Jeep Liberty?

Before changing the hood hinges, support and slightly lift the hood. Put a grease pencil line at the spot for hinge 1. Remove support cylinder 4 from the hood and loose the bolts inside bolts 3 connecting hinge 1 to the car body and the bolts 1 at hinge 2 to the hood to release the hinge from the vehicle. Before installing, place hinge 2 in line with the reference marks on the vehicle. Attach the hinge to the hood using bolts 1, then tighten them to 12 N.m (9 ft.lbs.), after that, install bolts 3 to connect the hinge to the body and tighten until you reach 28 N.m (21 ft.lbs.). The last step is to install the support cylinder on the right side of the hood.
