How to Service an Exhaust Heat Shield on 2006 Jeep Wrangler?

To service heat shields, lift up the vehicle and remove screws or nuts holding the heat shields. For the muffler shield, remove the support bracket on the front first. Slide the shields out of and reinstalled by securing the shields with screws or nuts tightened to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.) before lowering the vehicle.
