2006 Jeep Wrangler Fender Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a Fender on the Right Front on 2006 Jeep Wrangler?
A: You should start by removing both the battery tray and the air cleaner housing to take out the right front fender. Remove the bolts from the fender that are holding the Power Distribution Center (PDC) in place and release the wire harness retainers on the battery tray as well as the fender. Release the retainer on the high pressure air conditioning line, the front end lighting wire harness retainers, the battery temperature sensor connector, the vacuum line at the reservoir under the battery tray reinforcement bracket and the connector for the headlamp wire. Feed the fog lamp, park lamp and side marker wire harness through the hole in the fender well and if your car includes a fender flare extension, take it off. Take out the bolts on the fender's cowl, the battery tray reinforcement bracket and the grille and you can now take the fender off the vehicle. For installation, bring all necessary components over and skip over those that are broken or bent. Fit the fender over the vehicle and bolt it onto the grille, battery tray reinforcement and cowl. If your vehicle has them, apply the fender flare extension and body side molding after that, run the fog lamp, park lamp and side marker wire harness through the opening you made in the fender well and fit the grommet snugly. Link the headlamp wire, battery temperature sensor and vacuum line at the reservoir. Connect the front end lighting wire harness into the fender retainers and make sure it is secured, then add the high pressure air conditioning line to its retainer and secure that as well. Fix the PDC to the fender, attach the bolts and site the PDC wire harness properly between the battery tray and fender retainers. After that, install the housing for the air cleaner and the battery tray as well.
