2006 Jeep Wrangler Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Washer Reservoir on 2006 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The first step in working on the windshield washer reservoir is to remove and isolate the battery's negative cable. Eliminate the two screws at the base of the washer reservoir (on the left front side of the fender), then raise the reservoir to open the washer pump. Remove the washer supply hose(s) from the barbed outlet nipple(s) of the washer motor/pump unit(s) and let the used washer fluid collect into a clean container to be reused. Unplug the headlamp and dash wire harness for the front washer pump/motor from the connector receptacle on the motor and if the car has a rear washer pump/motor, also disconnect its related body wire connector from its receptacle. Wipe the oil from the reservoir, then take it out of the engine. After installation, insert the washer reservoir into the engine area, attach the rear body's power supply cable if needed and join all wires of the headlight and instrument wire harness at the front washer pump/motor, too. Connect the washer supply tube(s) to the barbed nipple(s) of the washer pump/motor, then put the tab found on the reservoir into the slot in the bottom of the wheel house panel. Attach and tighten the two bolts holding the washer reservoir to the left front fender wheel house to 8 N.m (70 in. lbs.), top up the washer reservoir with clean washer fluid and finally attach the negative battery cable.
