2007 Chrysler Crossfire Water Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Water Pump on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Before installing the water pump, clean the surfaces of all gaskets and set the water pump with a new gasket on the timing chain cover. Insert the water pump bolts correctly and secure them to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). Following that, add the generator, then the belt tensioner. Secure the water pump pulley with its bolts and make certain the water pump pulley bolts are tightened to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.). You should then install the idler pulley and tighten the bolt by hand as much as you can, then tighten the bolt to 10 Nm or 89 in. lbs. Pull the lower radiator hose over and attach it to the side that powers the coolant by-pass hose. Turn the belt tensioner counterclockwise, then place the accessory drive belt and release it. Attach the radiator fan and the engine cover, checking that the clips on the retaining clips fit correctly into the rubber mounts and pushing down to fix them. Before installing the engine cover, add a small bit of lubricant to the rubber grommets. Install the inlet tubes for the air cleaner, join the negative battery cable, fill the cooling liquid, turn on the engine to find any coolant leaks and check the level again.
