2007 Chrysler Pacifica Drive Shaft Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How Can Drive Shaft Installation Prevent Damage from Over-Angulation on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: It is recommended that two people perform propeller shaft installation to prevent the blades from being vertically angled too strongly which can result in vibrations. Always make certain the transaxle is set in Neutral (N) first. Lift the propeller shaft assembly into place with help, fitting it first to the driveline module (7) and next to the PTU flange. Attach the rear support bearing/bracket assemblies (10) in place and tighten the bolts manually. Put the paint index marks together at the driveline module flange and add and torque the three propeller shaft rubber coupler-to-rear driveline module bolts (8) to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Next, set the chalk marks on the PTU flange, screw in the six propeller shaft-to-PTU flange bolts (1) and tighten them to a torque of 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.), saying a "one-two" while you do this to get an even fit. Secure both the central and rear bearings or supports, then tighten both bolts from the bearings/supports to the body to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Raise the exhaust system into place, install the support hanger at the rear and then take the support stand out. Once done, place the center hanger onto the exhaust system and lower the vehicle.
