2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Alternator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Alternator on a 2.0/2.4L Engine on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Start by opening the air cleaner lid and removing the connection from the inlet air sensor and the makeup air hose. After that, take off the negative battery cable and remove the upper generator T-bolt nut. Attach a hoist to the vehicle to lift it off the ground and off comes the right front wheel and then the accessory drive splash shield. Unplug the pencil strut, then loosen both the lower pivot bolt and the accessory drive belt T-bolt after that. Detach the field circuit from the generator, then loosen and remove the B+ terminal wire and bolt and unfasten the belt instantly after that. First, loosen and unlock the axle nut, then pull away the lower control arm from the steering knuckle and make sure a container is positioned under the transmission. After that, remove the lower mounting bolt and nut from the upper T-bolt to take out the generator through the bottom opening.
