  • Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair an Alternator on 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
    A: First, install the generator and assemble the bolt and nut loosely for service and repair of the alternator. After that, attach and correctly tighten the generator belt. Tighten the lower pivot bolt by hand until it reaches 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Add the axle shaft next and don't forget to tighten the pencil strut securely to 52 Nm (38 ft. lbs.). Screw on the B+ nut and B+ terminal, tightening to 11.3 Nm (100 ins. lbs.) and join the field circuit connector to the generator. Once done, install the accessory drive splash shield and the right front wheel and only then lower the vehicle. Tighten the locknut for the T-bolt to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) and then plug the negative battery cable into the correct place. Then, attach the air cleaner lid, set the sensor and the makeup hose to the inlet air port and examine the transmission fluid.
