How to Remove and Replace a Drive Belt on a 2.0/2.4L Engine on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Before you replace the drive belt, first pull off the belt splash shield on your 2.0/2.4L engine. After that, tighten the belt tensioner with a wrench and when you can remove the belt from the pump pulley, gradually discharge the tension in the spring. Before you remove the generator belt, you have to first take off the power steering pump/air conditioning compressor drive belt, then loosen the pivot bolt, locking nut and adjusting bolt.
