2007 Chrysler Sebring Catalytic Converter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Catalytic Converter in a 2.0/2.4L Engine on 2007 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Before starting, make sure to clean the surfaces of the manifold, then put a new gasket onto the exhausted manifold. If you're replacing the catalytic converter, mount the downstream oxygen sensor to the new part. Place the catalytic converter onto the exhaust manifold and loosely install the resonator/pipe and muffler/pipe assembly to the other end of the catalytic converter. Attach support isolators beneath the muffler mounts and line up the exhaust so it doesn't interfere with underbody parts, making sure each support isolator takes an equal load. Screw the fasteners that attach the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.) and tighten the resonator/pipe assembly band clamp to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). After your muffler connection, lower the vehicle, switch on the engine and examine the exhaust system, fixing any leaks you discover. Lastly, ensure the exhaust pipes are not in contact with body panels and set them properly as you see fit.
