2007 Chrysler Sebring Oil Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an Oil Filter on 2007 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Before doing anything, make sure the engine is at its usual operating temperature, the vehicle is on a level place and it is switched off. Remove the cap over the crankcase, then lift the vehicle with a hoist. Attach a drain container under the oil pan drain plug (2) then remove the plug, observe the plug threads for any problems and replace the plug and the gasket if you find any damage. Then, unscrew the oil filter (1) and attach the oil pan drain plug (2), tightening it to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Early in the process, install the new oil filter (1), checking that it's tightened securely to 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.) and then raise the car again and install the new engine oil. Check for leaks when the engine is started and check the oil after you have turned it off. All engines come with a Mopar(R) full-flow, disposable oil filter that should be changed back to Mopar(R) or its equivalent each time. Dispose of engine oil properly because it is unsafe and make sure you wash your exposed skin with clean water and soap. Never clean yourself or the spill with gasoline, diesel fuel, thinner or solvents.
