2007 Chrysler Sebring Timing Cover Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Timing Cover in an Engine on 2007 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Every surface that seals in the timing cover should be free from grease and oil and sealed with a smear of RTV engine sealant at the cylinder head, the ladder frame and in the hole between the oil pan and block. Also, use a 2 mm layer of Mopar engine sealant RTV (or an equivalent brand) on the oil pan and engine block. With the vehicle upside-down, mount the timing chain cover by its bottom part and use the upper retaining bolts to secure it, tighten the M6 bolts to 9 Nm and the M8 bolts to 26 Nm. Set the new accessory drive belt tensioner, right engine mount bracket, upper idler pulley and right engine mount in place and after that, take out the jack under the engine. Fitting the power steering pump, pulling up the vehicle and securing the oil pan to timing chain cover lower bolts are all needed. Strain on the chain cover bolts, fit the water pump pulley, line up the crankshaft pulley, secure the accessory drive belt lower idler pulley, install the lower A/C compressor mounting bracket and add the A/C compressor. Put in the accessory drive belt and right lower splash shield and drop the vehicle down. Slide in the cylinder head cover, join the coil wiring, attach the PCV hose to the PCV valve and create an air hose. After that, set up the power steering reservoir and coolant bottle, fill the cooling system and place the air cleaner housing. Then hook up the negative battery cable and finish with putting on the engine cover.
