Before putting on the engine timing cover, clean the sealing surfaces of everything, making sure they are free from oil and grease and apply Mopar(R) engine sealant RTV (or equivalent) to the cylinder head to seal both the ladder frame and
Oil Pan/block area and both the oil pan and engine block itself by creating a 2 mm bead. Put the timing cover beneath the car, raise it upwards and hold it in place by attaching the top bolts. Tighten the M6 retaining bolts to 9 Nm and the M8 bolts to 26 Nm. Place the tensioner in the accessory
Drive Belt and tighten its bolt to 24 Nm and then fit the right engine mount bracket and tighten the bolts to 50 Nm. After that, fit the accessory drive belt upper idler pulley and fasten the bolt to 48 Nm and attach the engine mount adapter with the bolts and nuts, securing both to 30 Nm. With the rest of the bolts set to 50 Nm, pull out the jack and raise the vehicle off of the engine. Tighten the oil pan to timing chain cover lower retaining bolts as you should with 9 Nm. Then, install the water pump pulley with three bolts tightened to 9 Nm. Add the crankshaft damper, tighten the lower or accessory drive belt idler pulley to 48 Nm and tighten the lower A/C compressor mounting bracket bolts to 24 Nm. Fix the A/C compressor using bolts tightened to 25 Nm, next put in the right lower splash screw and lower the vehicle. Attach the cylinder head cover and the
Ignition Coils, put the
Power Steering Pump in place and tighten the three bolts to 26 Newton-meters. Attach the power steering hose hold down, the accessory drive belt, the reservoir of the power steering pump with a tightened mounting screw of 12 Nm and use 10 Nm for the bolts of the coolant recovery reservoir. After that, add the clean air hose and air cleaner housing, hook up the negative
Battery Cable, turn on the engine and check that it is running properly at normal temperature, inspect the oil for leaks and correct the fluid amounts and add the engine cover.
