2007 Chrysler Town & Country Clock Spring Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Clock Spring Assembly on 2007 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: First, put the steering wheel and front wheels in the straight-ahead position and release the hood latch. Take out the negative battery cable and allow two minutes for the air bag system reserve capacitor to release, so you avoid accidental deployment of the air bags which might lead to harm or even death. Remove the driver air bag from the steering wheel next and unplug the wire connectors at the back of the driver air bag. Take out the 2-way connector from the radio remote harness and the 4-way connector from the speed control/horn harness where they go into the Clock Spring. After removing the steering wheel, take the shrouds around the steering column off and disconnect the traction control wire connector if the car is so equipped. Get rid of the 4-way and 6-way connectors linking the Clock Spring to the instrument panel wiring harness and then remove the Clock Spring from the column by taking out its two attaching screws.
