2007 Chrysler Town & Country Oil Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Change an Oil Filter and Safely Dispose of Used Oil on 2007 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Change the oil in your engine as the Maintenance Schedule indicates by both mileage and time. Since oil can irritate the skin, you should limit your skin contact with it. Items such as gasoline, diesel fuel, thinner and solvents used to clean skin following contact with used oil contaminated by internal combustion can be harmful, so do not use them. Don't dispose of your used engine oil through street drains; instead, talk to a dealer or your local government office to find a center where you can take it. Let the engine reach its regular operating temperature, park the vehicle steadily on a level site and then shut the engine off. Open the hood, then take off the oil fill cap. Lift the vehicle using safety stands and then put an appropriate container under the crankcase drain. Unscrew and remove the crankcase drain plug, letting the old oil drain into the container and inspect the drain plug's threads. In case they show damage, remove and replace both with a new gasket. Take out the oil filter and set and tighten the drain plug in the crankcase afterward. Switch out the oil filter, lower the car and insert the required amount of the right engine oil. Install the cap over the oil fill, start the engine, search for leaks, stop it and check the oil level. Used engine oil should be handled with caution during disposal.
