2007 Chrysler Town & Country Camshaft Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Extract the Camshaft from an Engine Assembly on 2007 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: First, take out the engine assembly from inside the vehicle, then take off the cylinder heads. Next, separate the timing chain and camshaft sprocket and the hydraulic lifters, being sure to recognize every tappet for its correct placement. Following this, take away the camshaft thrust plate. It will be easier to remove the camshaft if you fix a long bolt just behind the front side of it. Remove the camshaft with caution so that the cam bearings with their cam lobes stay intact. It is important to know that the camshaft bearings are replaced at the same time as the engine block.
