2007 Chrysler Town & Country Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Hose for 3.3L/3.8L Engines on 2007 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Start by removing used O-rings from the ends of the power steering hose, cleaning the hose ends and the port on the power steering gear with a clean towel. Put a new O-ring on the end of the power steering fluid hose connecting to the gear box and soak it with clean power steering fluid. Make sure to avoid folding the tube ends when you mount them and check that the hoses do not get near any dangerous parts of the exhaust system. Avoid making the hose with the cooler stick to tight spots as you move it to the reservoir. When attaching the steering gear hose, pull it through the gear port, without tightening the nut yet. Put the routing clamp and bolt through the return hose tubes and mount them to the crossmember, tighten the clamp bolt to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Secure the cooler to the cradle crossmember called reinforcement with bolts turned to 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.). Attach the pressure hose routing clamp during the installation as well. Screw the power steering gear hose tube nut to 31 Nm (275 in.lbs.) and install the front emission vapor canister. After that, lower the vehicle. Insert the return hose tube into the retainer on the ABS bracket and shut the assembly. Put one end of the return hose into the reservoir, then make sure the clamp sits past the bead on the reservoir fitting. After that, pump and bleed the power steering to check for any leaks.
