2007 Dodge Caliber TPMS Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a TPMS Sensor on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
A: You need to lift your vehicle, remove the three wheel nuts and then take the tire and wheel away to work on the tire pressure sensor. The valve stem cap which includes an O-ring, should be saved and used again, as these types are crucial to stopping contamination and moisture; you should never use a standard cap on the valve stem. Do not remove or replace the nickel plated core, as this will most likely cause corrosion. Tire technicians should remove the tire from the wheel by referring to the instructions from the tire changer manufacturer, taking care to not use the Bead Breaker near the wheel rim sensor. Insert the mounting/dismounting tool at an angle of approximately 10° at the valve stem while dismounting to take off both the upper and lower tire beads. After that, unscrew the sensor nut that's holding the sensor to the wheel while pushing the metal valve stem's stem rearward to make sure it doesn't push back and damage your antenna strap. When the job is complete, take the sensor off the wheel.
