2007 Dodge Caliber Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Brake Light Switch on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
A: A NEW brake light switch must be used and when checking the adjustment lever, it should be at a 45° angle; if it's parallel, replace it, as it may already be set and unusable. Start by putting the switch into its bracket so that the index tab fits into the notch on the brake pedal bracket. When the switch body is all the way in, turn it clockwise 30° to lock it in place. Pull all the way on the brake pedal, then move the adjustment lever clockwise from 45° until it is parallel with the wiring connector. After that, attach the wire harness connector to the switch. If your car needs this, put the silencer pad below the steering column and then restore power by connecting the negative battery terminal. Afterwards, check the stop lamps to confirm they come on only when you press the brake and do not stay lit and take the car on a road test to ensure the brakes, ABS and speed control are all in good working order.
