  A: Before you starting working on the pump, make sure to disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Get the vehicle off the ground by supporting it on a secure hoist or a pair of jacks. Should you need to, detach the right front wheel and tire by removing it, then move the splash shield from underneath the wheel. Take the windshield washer hose off the front pump port, place a jumper hose there and drain the washer fluid from the car into a container. To separate the electrical body harness connectors from the washer pump motor, place the red lock forward, depress the black tab and lift the connector from the pump. Withdraw the pump from its spot inside the reservoir by pulling its upper retention tab far from the reservoir's cavity and lifting it off the mounting grommet, while still protecting the reservoir/pump connection and avoiding puncturing the reservoir. Now, take off and throw away the pump grommet.
