Before attending to the windshield washer motor, connect and place the vehicle on a hoist or jack stands and take off the negative battery cable. If you have to, take off the front right wheel and tire together and lift the right front
Wheelhouse splash shield so it's clear of the way. To drain the washer fluid, pull off the windshield washer hose from the front pump port, use a jumper hose to drain the reservoir and pour the fluid into a clean container as it comes out. Slide the red lock to the release position, hold down the black tab and pull off the connector from the washer pump motor. Open the retention tab on top of the reservoir, then lift the pump gently from the mounting grommet so it is not damaged or the reservoir is not punctured. Do not use the old pump grommet and make sure you install a new one when you put in the new pump set. First, squeeze the pump upper retention tab into the reservoir slot, make sure the pump is pressed against the reservoir with the connector up and confirm it is all the way down in the reservoir cavity. Slide the red lock of the washer pump motor into position to connect both ends of the electrical body harness. See that the washer hose will not be pinched while in use, then connect the right front wheelhouse splash shield and install the right front wheel and tire. Raise the vehicle and test its operation again.
