2007 Dodge Dakota Catalytic Converter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain or Replace a Catalytic Converter on a 3.7L or 4.7L Engine on 2007 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before servicing or replacing the catalytic converter on a 3.7L or 4.7L engine, raise and hold up the vehicle safely. On all the exhaust bolts and nuts, apply Mopar(R) Rust Penetrant and wait 5 minutes for it to work. Unplug the sensor electrical connectors before proceeding to avoid harming either. Then, remove the bolts that fastens the catalytic converter to the manifold and to the exhaust pipe (5 and 1). Tack welds can stop the catalytic converter from being removed, so grind them first and loosen other exhaust parts if necessary.
