2007 Dodge Dakota EGR Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How Is the EGR Valve Installed on a 3.7L Engine on 2007 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before installing the EGR valve on a 3.7L engine, clean the gasket area at the back of the left cylinder head that comes in contact with the base of the EGR valve. After that, wipe down the part of the EGR tube that links with the EGR valve. Install the new gasket over the EGR valve and head, set the EGR valve over the head and fix it down with two bolts, tightening to 9 Nm (80 in-lbs.). First, add a new gasket between the EGR tube flange and the EGR valve assembly and then connect the EGR tube to the side of the EGR valve. Make certain the end of the tube fits correctly into the intake manifold. The connection should be secured by putting two bolts in, tighten them with 11 Nm (8.5 ft. lbs.) of torque. Finally, attach the electrical connection to the top of the EGR valve solenoid and then slide the EVAP canister purge solenoid assembly onto the bracket.
