2007 Dodge Dakota Exhaust Pipe Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Exhaust Pipe on 2007 Dodge Dakota?
A: To fix and repair the exhaust pipe, raise and support the vehicle before you start. Cover the eyes with protective gear if using torches and never place flames close to the fuel lines. Unplug all the oxygen sensors to protect the connections and the parts beneath them. Apply Mopar(R) Rust Penetrant to all the bolts and nuts and wait for 5 minutes so it can work. Take out the clamp holding the muffler to the exhaust (3) and grind off any tack welds found near the connections (if they're present). Remove the insulator from the exhaust and, if it is present, also remove the insulator from the rear muffler (5). If there's no other way, use an oxygen/acetylene torch to heat the area and carefully twist the tailpipe out of the muffler. Take out the exhaust pipe (2) from the muffler (4) at the end.
