2007 Dodge Dakota Drive Shaft Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Detach the Drive Shaft on 2007 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before removing the drive/propeller shaft, put the car in neutral and raise it on a hoist. Mark both propeller shaft pinion flange and propeller shaft flange with reference marks for installation. Should the vehicle use a manual transmission, remember mark the manual transmission flange and the flange of the propeller shaft too. Locate the center bearing's outline on the bracket before placing support under the shaft and removing the four mounting bolts. After that, take out the pinion flange bolts from the propeller shaft. Ease the propeller shaft out of the automatic transmission/transfer case output shaft and afterwards, mark both parts so they can be easily set back up during installation. The manual transmission needs the flange bolts to be taken out. Always take out the propeller shaft after the other steps or you might create a vibration in the driveline.
