2007 Dodge Nitro Battery Tray Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Battery Tray in the Engine Compartment on 2007 Dodge Nitro?
A: The battery tray goes into the engine bay, attaching to the studs found on the inner left fender. Anchoring the battery tray onto the left inner fender requires tightening its nuts to 10.5 Nm (93 in. lbs.). Align the TIPM bracket with the battery tray, push it forward to fit the slots with the tabs and drive the TIPM bracket retaining screws into the tray. Put the TIPM near the engine and link every TIPM wire harness connector together. Place the TIPM onto the bracket and pinch the mounting clips down onto the mounting tabs. With the TIPM positive cable and the retaining nut connected, put the mounting stud into the TIPM and tighten the nut to 9 - 11 Nm (80 - 100 In. lbs.). On gasoline equipped vehicles, mount the purge solenoid on the battery tray's mounting tab and push down until it locks securely, then attach the vac hose to the end of the solenoid facing it and the electrical lead to the solenoid. Add the battery, link up the negative battery cable and shut the hood. Push the ignition key in, move it to the "RUN" position and allow the TIPM to collect all required vehicle configuration and VIN information from the CCN and PCM over twelve seconds. In about twelve seconds, turn the ignition key off and then on to ensure all the vehicle's systems are working properly.
