How to Service and Repair a Belt Tensioner on a 3.7L Engine on 2007 Dodge Nitro?

Before you proceed with drive belt tensioner service or repair on a 3.7L engine, put the pulley and its bolt into the tensioner and tighten the bolt to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.) torque. After that, insert the left end of the tensioner into the indexing slot cut out on the front cover and fasten it with the bolt which should be tightened to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). After that, mount the drive belt and ensure the belt index is aligned.
