How to Service and Repair a Muffler on 2007 Dodge Nitro?

Before doing anything on the muffler, lift the vehicle onto a hoist. After that, take out the two clamp nuts holding the exhaust pipe to the muffler and tailpipe assembly. Gently use a suitable pry bar to separate the muffler and tailpipe from their place in the exhaust hanger. In the last step, disconnect the muffler and tailpipe assembly from your vehicle.
