2007 Dodge Nitro EGR Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install an EGR Valve on a 3.7L Engine on 2007 Dodge Nitro?
A: At the first stage, thoroughly clean the cylinder head gasket surface at the rear of the left cylinder to fit the base of the EGR valve securely. Following that, clean the area where the EGR tube meets up with the EGR valve. Set a new gasket between the EGR valve and the cylinder head and place the valve onto the head. Secure the valve with two bolts, tightening each to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). The next step is to set a new EGR tube gasket between the flange and assembly of the EGR valve. Moving the EGR tube to the side of the EGR valve, make sure the end connects to the EGR marker and attach two bolts, torquing them to 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). The final link is making the electrical connector connection with the top of the EGR valve solenoid.
