2007 Dodge Nitro Catalytic Converter Parts and Q&A
Q: How Is a Catalytic Converter Installed on 2007 Dodge Nitro?
A: Place the front exhaust pipe and the assembly into the mount at the transmission (if it is available) and then connect the assembly to the exhaust manifold flange. Set the nuts for the front exhaust pipe and the catalytic converter at the muffler flange, but don't tighten them right now. There should be 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) or more between the exhaust pipe and the frame and underneath of the vehicle. Set the bolt found at the exhaust manifold to 27 Nm (19 in. lbs.) torque and tighten the front exhaust pipe and catalytic converter assembly to the muffler flange nuts to 27 Nm (19 ft. lbs.) torque. Install the front pipe onto the exhaust manifold flange and tighten the clamp down with 10 Nm (95 in. lbs.) torque. Join the oxygen sensor's electrical links, lower the car, turn it on and check for exhaust leaks. Then fix any problems found. Also, confirm that the exhaust is not touching any body panels and change anything necessary.
