2007 Dodge Nitro Rocker Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: What is the correct method for installing a Rocker Arm assembly on 2007 Dodge Nitro?
A: Before installing, make sure the concave part of the rocker arms is aligned with the adjusters to keep damage to the engine down. Before the engine is installed, cover the rocker arms in clean oil. Put the crankshaft into position where cylinder No. 1 is at the point of bottom dead center intake stroke. When working on cylinder No. 1, turn the crankshaft to the low-fire position at BDC combustion stroke. For cylinders No. 3 and No. 5, turn the crankshaft until cylinder No. 1 is at its highest or TDC, on the exhaust side. Crank the engine until cylinder No. 1 is in its TDC ignition stroke for cylinders No. 2 and No. 6. Place rocker arm 8300 in position, functioning valve spring 8423 and press down on the valve mechanism with special tool 8516. After that, assemble the cylinder head cover.
