2007 Dodge Nitro Thermostat Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Thermostat on a 3.7L Engine on 2007 Dodge Nitro?
A: Always begin by cleaning the joints between the timing chain cover and thermostat housing. Following that, place the thermostat with the spring face down into the machined groove in the housing, so that the notched tab lines up with a matching position in the part. Put the thermostat housing onto the timing chain cover and use a 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) torque wrench to install the bolts holding the housing and the cover. Following that, put on the lower radiator hose at the thermostat housing and the splash shield before moving the vehicle closer to the ground. Pour in the refrigerant and link up the black battery cable to the battery to complete the job. At last, start the engine and check if there are any leaks coming out of the vehicle.
