How to Maintain the Thermostat on a 3.7L Engine on 2008 Dodge Nitro?

In order to service the engine coolant thermostat in a 3.7L, disconnect the negative battery cable, drain the cooling system and raise the vehicle. Take away radiator hose, thermostat housing and splash shield bolts. When changing the thermostat, the new one has to correspond with the car model and type of engine.
