2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an Air Bag Sensor on a Mega Cab on 2007 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: On a Mega Cab, the side impact sensor should be serviced by shutting off the supplemental restraint system which you do by discharging the battery and waiting two minutes for the capacitor to drain. Lean the front seat forward to allow you to get at the B-pillar trim more easily. Take out the nut that holds the side impact sensor (part number 4) to the B-pillar (part number 2). You can access the side impact sensor through the big opening just above the retractor connection hole in the inner B-pillar, then release its pin and stud from the holes. Extract the side impact sensor far enough to unplug the lower body wire harness connector (number 1) from the sensor receptacle on the B-pillar and then bring out the side impact sensor unit. If you drop the sensor during service, replace it right away with a new one as improper functioning is a risk.
