2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Rear Outboard Seat Belt and Retractor in a Mega Cab on 2007 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: For a Mega Cab's rear outboard seat belt and retractor, open the latch, check the seat belts as well as components like buckles, hardware, retractors, tether straps and anchors, change any damaged belts and ensure twisted belts are in good order. Replace loose screws and update weakened or ineffective restraint buckles, retractors, latch plates or anchor plates, just like you would with damaged or bent anchors for the child seat. Only the plastic web stop button works, so it should be substituted after following the suitable instructions in the service kit. The rear outboard seat belt and retractor should be fitted on the inner C-pillar with the hooks above the bracket engaging the hole. Screw 3 (the lower retractor bracket) into the C-pillar and tighten it to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.). Squeeze the belt web guide against the B-pillar, let the clips lock and lastly, attach the lower trim so you can access the turning loop. Put the upper trim back and slide the seat belt turning loop onto the height adjuster on the upper C-pillar, holding it in place with screw 5 tightened to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.) Cover the turning loop with a new trim piece, so the engagement tabs click into place. Lower the seat belt anchor down to sit behind the C-pillar and tighten it with screw 6 to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.). After checking the seat belt position, secure the rear seat into the vehicle once more.
