Begin your service and repair of the 4X2 (HD) ball joint by taking off the tire, the wheel assembly and after that the brake caliper and rotor. After that, take the tie rod off the steering knuckle and remove the steering knuckle. Then, get rid of the snap ring from the ball joint at the bottom of your vehicle. Applying very high pressure oil to the threaded sections of the tool benefits its life and correct functioning when removing or installing it. After that, use special tools C-4212-F, 9776-2 and 8698-3 to press the ball joint on the lower control arm.
