Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Hose on 2007 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: Before servicing or repairing the HVAC line, unplug and disconnect the negative battery cable. Get the refrigerant out of the refrigerant system and next remove the air filter housing. After that, detach the clamp that connects the A/C suction hose to the compressor, pull out the hose from the compressor and dispose of the O-ring and gasket. Insert a plug into or cover the top of the open suction line fitting and the compressor port with tape. Take off the secondary retaining clip that fits inside the spring-lock coupler on the A/C suction line. Connect your Special Tool Kit 7193 or equivalent and disconnect the suction line leading to the air conditioner accumulator, then throw away the O-rings. Again, attach a plug into or tape over the open ends of the suction line and the accumulator hose before removing the suction line from the engine compartment.
