2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Blend Door Actuator in Single and Dual Zone HVAC Systems on 2007 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: Only a single blend door actuator is used in a single zone system, while a dual zone system comes with two actuators for heating and cooling both sides of the vehicle. For the driver side, place the blend door actuator over the back of the HVAC housing, so the lever and the actuator output shaft line up. Install the actuator using screws secured at 1.1 Nm (10 in. lbs.) and then attach the wire harness to the actuator. After that, attach the instrument panel and link the negative battery cable again. Inside the dual zone passenger side, put the blend door actuator and bracket assembly on top of the HVAC housing and fasten them with 1.1 Nm (10 in. lb.) screws. Then, hook up the HVAC wire harness to the actuator. Insert the guide pin on the blend door lever into the opening on the linkage for the blend door, attach the lever to the actuator output shaft and linkage and secure it. Now, add the instrument panel and fasten the negative battery cable back onto the battery.
